I'm not familiar with the AQHA halter futurities, but yeah that is the one she's eligible for. HalterHorses or AcmeAcres can probably shed some more light on that particular one.

She is registerd as an APHA Solid Paint Bred...doesn't that mean she in the Paint Futurities? I just want to make sure.

Good question! I am wondering the same thing, my SPB filly is breeders trust nominated, can I show her in the futurities (LL) against the regular colored horses?

I know that other than the futurities, we are limited to halter SPB and WP SPB. HUS SPB, and Trail SPB. And those classes except for the halter ones, are usually all ages. That means if you are taking a 3 yr in the WP class you could be showing against an 11 yr old finished horse being ridden by a professional. Kinda sucks, but I also like the idea of the challenge of taking my baby and putting her up against the more finished horses and trainers.

Like said, here in AZ, the numbers of SPB horses showing are rising dramatically. Last year I saw 1 in the SPB LL class and at the last show I know that there was at least 4 in that same class.

Lets get a movement going, open more classes to the SPB APHA horses!!!!!

I was also wondering if I could show her in showmanship too at regular open shows? I know that I will be going up against other older horses...but she likes all the showmanship stuff I have been working on with her...i just have never seen it done...but also haven't been to many shows either.

If you look online you should be able to find videos of horses competing in these events. That way you can see what it is about. Looking for National and world Champions can help you see what the end goal is.

Have fun.
