Lovely Standardbred Stallion for sale - broke to drive/ride!

Austin is a retired harness racer, 10 years old, 16hh. He is very calm and sensible and extreemly easy to handle. He has lovely manners - there isn't a single stud-like quality about him.

He has been ridden w/t/c, and enjoys every minute! There are no limitations to what this sweet gentleman could do. Needs an intermediate rider.
He was on a lease last winter, but now that its up, no one is paying any attention to this poor fellow and he would love a kind owner to fuss over him.

Asking $500 Canadian.
Located in Ontario Canada - near Ottawa

$500 Canadian would be less than that in U.S. dollars. By how much I'm not sure (somewhere between $350 and $450 would be my guess???)

I can't take on another horse right now, but I wanted to post and vouch for the Stbd breed.

I bought my first standardbred last winter, and before that, I would never have considered one for dressage. She had awesome movement, and a very nice extended trot, thanks to being a trotter. She did injure herself, and is no longer rideable. But, she has the most amazing temperment. I would take another Stbd in a heartbeat!

People tend to look down on the breed. I think it's mostly because people have never had any experience with them.

He sounds like a doll. I'd take him if I had the room.. Good luck finding him a home!

Annabelle-> Circumstances have changed a little here, and I might be considering a new horse.

Is there any chance he could be gelded before he's moved? I have all mares, and I definately don't want any babies!

I'd like to talk more about him. Could you email me at horsecrazy100 at hotmail dot com ?

Thanks!
