| Senior Member+ | Love the internet. I found saddle fitting templates I don't know if they work, but it sure has to be easier than guessing. I haven't printed mine off yet, but thought I would share my find. http://www.horsesaddleshop.com/easy-...mendation.html

| Senior Member+ | I just printed mine off this morning. I'm not sure I understand 100% how to tell what tree size I am going to need. I understand the gullet sizing, but the templates go in degrees for the bars. Once I get them traced and figure out what size I need, I will research what each of the degrees translates into.

| Senior Member+ | I am so frustrated. I copied and cut out my templates. But I can't figure out what they mean! It looks like they are ment for that site only for figuring out what bar size you need. I don't suppose anyone with saddle fitting knowledge would look a the templates and let the rest of us know what each template equals out to in bar sizing? It says: Quote:

| Senior Member+ | Every saddle manufacturer is different. There is NO answer for a universal fit. Those templates are for that web site specifically. You call them up with the angle your horse ended up, and they'll let you know which of their saddles will fit. It's a great service that they offer, but it won't translate to any other web site. Now, if you call and they tell you exactly what saddles and trees will work, you can go looking for those SAME saddles and trees elsewhere, but you'll have to find the exact brand, model, and tree size, and it will have to be relatively new. Older saddles within the same brand often fit different than their newer counterparts. Generally, wide to very wide will need Full QH bars and Normal to Narrow will need Semi-QH or QH bars, but again, every saddle manufacturer is different. The Full QH bar in one brand may not fit anything like the Full QH bar in another. Isn't saddle fitting fun? lol

| Senior Member+ | I'm getting frustrated with it! LOL I was going to use the templates this afternoon when the vet came and my girlfriend. But I had an escape horse so the girlfriend came over to help me catch it since I can barely walk. I discovered she knows NOTHING about horses. She didn't know how to open the gate, she didn't know how to put the halter on, and she didn't know how to feed them. I had her use grain so the other two wouldn't escape, she put all the grain in one dish for them to "share". Maybe some people's horses share their grain, but mine, only the dominate eats if its on one dish. Easy enough fix though.Gotta love her that she was willing to come out of her comfort zone to help a friend. She is the same friend that when we went riding the mare kept throwing her head: http://www.horsegroomingsupplies.com...ve-196923.html I did end up hurting myself pretty good. I was outside trying to give instruction and I hit uneven ground and twisted my knee a little. Dang that was painful!! It still hurts from it. The point of that long story is, she couldn't stay until the vet could make it cuz vet is running late. She has to pick up her son. Since there is no one to hold the horse, I have no way to use the templates. I will once I can walk and hubby can hold the horse. I decided the money I was saving for the saddle should go for a new computer anyway. (I sold a bunch of bird and horse stuff to get the money) Since the surgeon guessed 4 weeks of off my feet except to do physical therapy, then another 4 weeks of crutches, a.k.a. limited mobility. I think a faster, newer computer would be a better use of my money. I still want a new saddle, but I have to start all over with saving for it.
