Arrow Looking to adopt or rescue

Ok, I LOVE to find a good horse that needs TLC and weight put on them. I have found a few horses that I like but there either too old or way over priced, free-$500 horse, must be 14hh - 16hh, mare or gelding, any breed or color. 2 yrs old - 10 yrs old preferred, but if out of range still try me.

I am Maine and there are NO horse auctions near me that i have located. I will consider adopting out of state for sure. If someone has a horse or goes to auctions often and you pick something up i may be interested in and i like it, I will pay to trailer him/her here.

I dont get it, i have read of people getting horses anywhere from $10 - $500 who are registered and saddle trained.

Thanks in advanced!

RM,
PM me. I think it might be too far of a drive (I'm in TN) but I know of some who need new homes and if you're willing to pay for gas and at least a few hours of my drive I'll trailer them myself.

hmm i know there are alot of racehorses that can still be ridden lightly that are trained and vary in prices from 300$ to more, i get regular updates from New Vocations center. anyways, what you are doing is a good and helpful idea and hugs for that! im also thinking about getting a rescue when i get home

I have a friend along the VT/NH border who "inherited" several horses after a good friend died unexpectedly. Her horses will be in good shape so they don't really qualify as "rescue" but the price will be right and she would be pleased to place one in a good home. If that sounds like an option, please send me a private message with your email address.
