What are you looking for it for? Some of the "rescues" in this area are pretty shady. If you just want to rescue a horse I have heard of one for free in NJ.If you want to adopt it's usually cheaper to pick it up at tthe auction yourself. If you want to donate a horse there are a few I wouldn't donate to. here is the website for last chanch.. Last Chance Ranch Equine Rescue I have never dealt with them, but I have heard good things.

look up the sugar creek auction. Its close to here, and they send tons of very cheap, sad looking horses there to go to slaughter. Its not a facility but youd be rescuing. They sold a horse 1$ to the meat factory before. and my freinds mom got a horse for 20$. sad

Hi there I live in Washington PA too. I have a Standardbred that came from New Vocations in Ohio. I don't think it is too far from PA. You can check out the website. they have Thoroughbreds as well as standardbreds. New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program

Just another thought that popped up. Have you bheen to the Hickory horse auction? If you want to save a horse that's the place to go. I have seen a number of young horses go throught there recently for $100 or less and looking like they could use some TLC. Ther5e was a stunning paint mare last month. She was a buckskin, 7 years old and had been left in a pasture on her own since she was 2. She was scared and they had to drive her into the ring because she was not halter broken but she was showing every sign that she was not mean or untrainable. She went for $250 to another dealer. Lots of weanlings going to the meat man or where ever they go not that there is the ban on slaughter. Probably not someplace nice.
