Here's a story about a race horse that was purchased in 2005 when he was 2 years old for $350,000.00. He was found in a direct kill pen at a auction in Pennsylvania. January of this year he was bought for $10,000.00 and taken to the auction in March were he was sold for $200.00. His trainer Nick Zito had a sticker his papers stating that if this horse needs a home call. The rescue group called them and they are going to take him.

I am glad everything turned out for this horse...

It's sad that there was a sticker on his JC papers that apparently no one paid attention to until a rescuer found him and saved him. Now I am sure he is living a grand life!

Wow! That is a great story, but it does not say how/why he ended up in a slaughter pen. Why would someone not want him? Or is that what they do with retired racers?

If you look at the rescue's site http://www.ac4h.com/ another chance for horses. They find them there every Monday at the auction. He stood out because he was well groomed.
