I got back from my second session of lessons a few hours ago. Last weekend was my first lessons. The lessons went really well. My instructor was really nice. So were the others there. This time they put me on Roman (dark bay gelding) becasue my first horse was needed for another, younger rider. Plus, Roman is a bigger horse and is a better size for me. The other horse was slower than I was used to and a bit stubborn. The main problems I had with Roman were since he was taller I had to use a mounting block. When I finally got him across the bridge he had a tendency to come off the bridge and start cantering, something I haven't learned seeing as how this was my second lesson. They switched my instructor today too. They put me with my first instructor's husband, and he's not as patient or understanding. Although last time I had trouble dismounting, this time I found it easier. I don't know if it had something to do with the fact that I wore riding pants instead of jeans or I'm just getting better at it. We also started learning a slow trot today. That was difficult seeing as how I wasn't told how to do, just to do it. Thanks for listening! XOXO, Ren red_hors |

It's hard in the beginning, but if you keep at it, you'll succeed. I know i took me a while to catch on to a lot of things, but it's all worth it in the end. Good luck!

Thanks. But I've found another barn that offers lessons, which is closer nad has nicer facilities. I've emailed them about more information (prices, times, dates, etc.) and my mom said she'll take me up there to look around this weekend after my lessons. XOXO, Ren red_hors |

Thanks! I'm thinking aboutmaybe skipping lessons at my current barn one weekend and going to this new barn and taking a session there. Just to see if I like ti there or not. At my current barn I bought 10-12 (depending on how long the lesson is) sessions in advance becasue I had fun the first time and planned on continuing. I didn't expect them to be switching instructors on me. I'll take some pictures of the new barn compared to my old barn when I go up there this weekend. Hopefully my mom won't change her mind at the last minute like she does with most things. We'll see. Wish me luck!!! XOXO, Ren P.S. PM me for more information or if you have any questions or just want to talk a bit!!! |
