Leg Fungus

My mare pees on her back legs and i was wondering what i could do to minimize her hair getting fried (yuck!). I've heard you can put vaseline on their legs but that would be really messy. If anyone has any suggestions please tell!

Besides washing it off as soon as she pees on herself, the barrier creme sounds like it would be the best thing, either vaseline or a nappy rash type creme, like zinc and castor oil, far out that must be a pain....

Does she actually urinate on her legs, or on her tail thus wetting her legs also?

The vet came on Mon for a general checkup for her insurance, and told us it is just a fungus and to use medicated shampoo. But thanks for the suggestions.
