Leather Halters

Hi,
I am about to order a leather halter for my mare (first one ever! ). She normally goes in a c/s for the nylon ones. She has a more refined face, and f/s's hang off her. I was wondering if sizing is the same for leather ones.

Thanks!

I have the same sizing requirements for both leather and nylon. He fits into a warmblood in nylon, and a warmblood in leather.

I'd suggest going for the cob.

Yes I use leather halters, and they come in mini, pony (L,M,S) cob, and horse...then oversized or warmblood, then draft...my tb mare can wear a cob or horse sized one...

I also find the sizing to be the same with nylon and leather. My boy wears the same size in both.

It really depends on the halter. My mare wears a cob. But her leather halter is a yearling on the tightest holes. My gelding wears a large horse. His leather halter is a full size and is actually too large (cob is too small though). Both are different brands.

That's not to say that all leather halters run large though.

I'd say the sizes are somewhat constant, especially within brands. If she fits well (not on the largest or smallest holes) into 1 size, then the same size should work in the leather ones.

Meteor's my in-between horse. Sometimes he fits in a cob size, sometimes he fits in a horse size. The leather cob size halter I have for him BARELY fits him. It's on the last hole on both sides.
