I would go with the dover halter and use a brass name plate. I have never heard of a name browband, for a bridle. It would be probaly against rules to use it for hunters.

Or should I go with something like this?:

And would this be to goddy?:

The name browbands.
I will be showing him in Hunter/jumpers.I think that the name browband would be to flashy for it right?

Last Question.
What color nameplate should go on it?The halter I mean. There is silver or gold.

You guys have helped me soooo much!
I am more conservative and would probably go with a dark oil halter and a gold, brass, or silver name plate.

BUT.... I always find it interesting when ppl go against the "norm".

I dunno, the white halter above would definitely be an attention getter. IMO the name plate would need to be dark metal like a bronze on that particular halter.

I would think a nice dark brown would look nice on him.

I know this is not your horse and it's not really a halter, but it will give you an idea of the contrast.

Here is a halter, but it's not leather. It is poly over nylon but gives you the contrast.

If you like the contrast, then just go with a brown leather halter and then get the really nice fancy sheepskin halter fuzzies to put on the halter.

I always found that to look more "fancy" then an actual white halter....and WAY easier to keep clean.....seeing as how you can wash the fuzzy.....

Not to mention that white leather doesn't look very nice at all up close. It's just not "supposse" to be that color, and so looks very cheap up close, and the white is died ontop of the leather (as oppossed to more natural colors being died into the leather). This causes the white on the leater to acutally chip, and you'll start seeing bits of brown underneath after time.

I'm a fan of the brown or black leather with the fuzzy ideas.....or a name plate.

If it's a GOOD leather halter, it will last forever! I bathe my horses in theirs, they are stored outside, and they are only cleaned an oiled two or three times a year. My mare's halter last 5 years, and now it's been passed down to my husband's horse. It's still in good working order, just not that pretty, lol. Her new one is Amish made from Perri's leather. It's not super expensive, but it's very nice quality!

I like brown leather halters, for all colors. I don't have any pictures of my mare in her new one, but here's her old one two winters ago. It's a 1" double stitched Amish made halter. I don't like the looks o fthe tripple stitched ones.

(and yes, I pulled my daughter off right after I took the picture, lol. I normally don't let her on without a helmet, or a lead rope, lol).

LOL....... I'm a notorious googler and I can come up with some off the wall search terms. I typed in

black horse in white halter

Once the results came up for the web search, I clicked on the images link. This is a link to where I found them.
