Unhappy Leaf eaters read

Someone ask about horses eating leaves, if it was ok. I just came across this.

Maple leaves changes the blood chemisty of the horse causing liver & kidney damage, and eventually death.

Maple's not good.
Acorns not good.
Cherry's not good
Moss is a no-no.
Laurel is a No.

How about carob leaves??? We've got plenty of those, and my mares love eating off the pine trees that they're tied to.

OMG tomatoes are bad; it's not a fruit, it's a nightshade.

I was just about to post a question on this same subject.

My trainer was telling me that the leaves of a certain tree, once they fall to the ground, are toxic for pregnant mares, causing them to abort. She remembered hearing about this happening to some Thoroughbreds in Kentucky, but couldn't remember the name of the tree. Has anyone heard of this, and do you know the type of tree?

My horse eats a lot of tree shurbs leaves as well as of pine trees. Wouldnt horses know if a leaf is poisonous or not?
I feel terrible coz until now i havent tried to stop him eating all of these plants and leaves.

Indigo, those deaths were also caused by a worm/catipillar, not the tree, I believe.

How are tomatoes/potatoes/ground cherries a nightshade?
