I was hald-walking Cuesta around today (paint stock mare, 5 yra or so old)(with filly in tow.) Now, Cues does not walk that fast, but it seems like she's slowly over-reaching me and inching up, up up.. to the point where she would be walking me if I let her.. so when she did this, I simply turned her, made her go in a circle, and repeated it once more until she stopped trying to outwalk me and sunk into a nice speed. So did I do it right?

Yeah; this mare is a genius as far as equine intelligence is concerned.
