The last show of the season couldn't have gone better.

Yes, the amazing pair of chick and Dizzy have done it again. For some reason more and more people are watching them.

Despite the migraine had returned for me Friday we travelled a couple of hours north. Sam came with us and yet again proved what a great kid he can be. Whilst Chick and I were getting the stall ready and Dizzy settled Sam set up our camp.

Saturday morning in the hack ring Dizzy decided that the surrounds of it were inhabited by gremlins and martians. This of course meant he wasn't placing. There were some interesting horses in the classes. Some looked like they were pulled from the back paddock that morning and others were very good quality.

They won their rider class, they won the Champion Girl Rider and just missed the Supreme Child rider to a kid that was sitting nicely on a push button horse. (That was the judges opinion)

After those classes I had a quick word to the judge who complimented Dizzy a lot and was very surprised he wasn't placing in the other ring. She had a bias towards greys though.

They went off to the dressage ring. This ag show also has dressage. Chick was one of the few who didn't need her test called for her. Dizzy did a nice test. Must have done, he won out of a class of about 14.

Chick then did her mate who she competes against a favour by jumping on her horse for her. It had forgotten what forward meant. It soon remembered. Stayed forward the rest of the day then.

Then they went off to the hack ring again to play in some other classes. Maybe someone gave the judge a wine at lunch because she then liked them.

They got enough pretty ribbons to have made their day. Plus about $50 in winnings.

So that is the last of this type of show for us until next year. There may be a couple more dressage days or jumping if we are lucky.

She is very happy with this big purple ribbon

Dizzy is such a stir crazy horse isn't he.

her haul of pretties.

I have to wait to get the pro pics and will post them when I do.

Thanks. Chick puts far more weight in Rider classes and Dressage than hacking.

She got a 7 for her free walk with the comment that the horse needs to stretch into the contact more. He was, just stretching up though. He got 1/4 way across the arena when they started another chainsaw race. Sounds like v8 race track then. Off course his head and ears went up.

Chick called the test for her mate. It was the only dressage test I have seen which included little side loops because the rider was going offtrack. Chick had misunderstood her friends knowledge or lack of it when doing dressage. The judge was very kind to them in the marking.
