Last Chance Horse Rescue in Byhalia, MS

Has anyone ever had any dealings with this rescue? If so, please let me know if it was good or bad. I know of 4 people that have had bad experiences dealing with them. Is there an agency that regulates rescue groups that I can report her to? Thanks!!

I adopted a horse from LCHR this summer. I had a positive experience. They are real horse people and love horses. They take very good care of the horses, often at their own expense. I know some of the vets they use and they are excellent. They give the horses the best care they possibly can. My rescue is coming along really well. I have been able to get help and advice from LCHR several times since the adoption. I would not hesitate to adopt from them again.

I had a positive interaction with Last Chance Horse Rescue, I was given a horse that had a shoulder problem and I already had my plate full with my own horses but took the horse anyway. I contacted Michelle and not only did she take him in, she had surgery done on his shoulder and abscessed teeth removed, all out of her own pocket. Without being asked, she kept in touch with me on his progress. That showed me not just how much she cared about the horses but also for the feelings of the people connected to the horses. I would not hesitate to adopt or place a horse at her facility.

Yes, I have had the pleassure of having Michele the founder of LC Horse Rescue trian my Horse Dusty. And it was an amazing transformation with him that I was able to particapate with her with. Dusty is a Rescue Horse that I adopted and she help me get his confidence back to be secure with a new owner and be able to be happy again after the abuse he indured. I am not sure what the problem might have been with anyone else however I can speak up and say they have the best intrest of all the horses that they rescue to place them in appropriate homes and some people that may want a horse may not be the best match for some of the rescues and that tough decission falls on the founder to make the best matches for them. And though it is an unfortunate thing to have happen to be denighed an adoption. It is even more unfortunate for a horse to be place in the wrong enviroment. Micheles assessments of the horse are 100% accurate. I would trust her in a minute on her evaluations, Her judgements are really clear. Just ask my Dusty!!
