Mare will usually foal with in 48 hrs. of getting colostrum. 1. thin runny little thin and taste bland 3. thicker tacky white milk will taste sweet Good luck those maidens are sneaky devils and unpredictable. Good luck and healthy wishes to you all!!

I think that she's in stage 1 labor now. She was lifting rear legs kicking at her belly all day long. I could also see her whole belly area quivering just about every other minute all day today, as if the foal was in there trying to get out. She was VERY restless all day long, even while eating. She is just downright miserable now. What do you all think?

Oh yeah, I forgot to add, I am staying at my bro in laws, where Moondust is, and have been here for the past week ous sitting while he's gone. His computer sucks, and I can't upload pictures on it. I have to wait until I get home.

Do you guys think that she is in stage 1 labor also? If she's not, I feel seriously sorry for her. She doesn't usually bother easily, but she is down right miserable now.

Maybe she's holding out for my birthday. I'll let you know if she does.  I hope you manage to get some decent sleep and don't get to deprived while waiting for things to happen. Best wishes for a healthy foal.

I forgot to add that she has been tail swishing and holding up her tail ALOT the past 2 days. Tail head is pronounced. croup is still squishy, and her bag is full and has colostrum. I have not yet noticed any wax though.
