Kent forage extender vs alf cubes

we have Kent Forage extender

How does this do compared to alfalfa cube?? Would this be better or similer?

What I can tell you about that product and anything that lists "by products- or products" in their ingredients is that they are doing least cost formulations..they can change the ingredients put into the product at anytime looking for the "least cost" ingredient, or looking ways to increase the margin they make on the product...that means the product is not consistent..it is not the same bag to bag..the grain by- products could include peanut hulls, rice hulls, oats, etc. one batch and something else on the other batch..that means a wide array of ingredients could be used for roughage products and plant protein products as well..you do not know what is in your bag..and that is not a consistent feed for your horse..also having grain by-products in that hay extrender means it is probably pretty high in starchs and sugars..something you should avoid in horses diets and must avoid in the diet of a horse with metabolic issues (founder, cushings, insulin resistance etc.) the NSC could be well over 15-20%..what I like about the triple crown products is they are very close to natural hay, just chopped staying about an inch or so in length...they provide the length that is natural and healthy for the horses digestive system giving them that "scratch factor"....the NSC of these products is not a constant value and will vary like normal hays, but it is a very nice product, it goes through a screening process, is sprayed with molasses and oil, is bagged and looks nice....good for taking on camping trips...good if you are having trouble finding hay in your area. The product stays as consistent as possible..

ohh and back to the cubes..triple crown offers those as well....as you can see if you go to the links listed..cubes also provide some "scratch factor" as they are bits of hay just compressed in a cube form and soaking them is an excellent way to hydrate your horse...
