Post Keeping Black Horses Black

Whats that supplement called that keeps black horses from fading out in the summertime? We have a gorgeous black filly who was very faded last summer. She's back to her beautiful black and we'd like to keep it that way! Thanks

Still Miss Kitty, I would drop the company and Email and make sure it will not show up in a negative way on any of the tests they do at the track... wink
It would not hurt to be positive! Better safe than sorry!

Thanks Sandra! I've dropped them an email You're right, its always better to be safe than sorry! I've asked for the ingredients and if there was anything that wouldn't be appropriate for the track. I don't want to drug my horses in any way!!! I hope its safe, she's so flashy when she's dark!

Hope it works for ya!! If it does be sure to let me know please! If it works I want it for my black mare. She bleaches out really bad in the summer and I find it very annoying lol.

The best thing to do is to keep your horse out of the direct sun durning the day. (esp. in the summer) and keep them covered. It's so hard nowadays as the UV rays are so powerful. There are color enhancing shampoos available on the market i.e. Hi-Black burgundy shampoo by Rio Vista. They also have Golden Palomino, Sorrel Chestunut, Ravishing Red. If I recall the Black as Knight product really darkens the pigment of the skin, and doesn't do anything to the hair, I beleive it contains paprika.
