Just a quick question...

I free lunged Crayon today before I rode her. I also set up some new natural wooden poles. We had been using PVC poles, but she ignored them. Not heavy enough. lol. Well, I didn't even intend for her to jump them today. But as she was trotting around, she turned to the wooden vertical. She could have easily gone to the side of it. She did this about three times, one time actually cantering and getting a nice distance. She seemed to enjoy it. I attempted it at the trot on her... But bareback + me + jumping = icky. So she wasn't very interested. lol.

So why did she jump over the vertical? Did she just want to? I've never seen her jump this willingly before. But itdoesn't dissappint me! lol.

It's kind of a silly question I suppose... But I'm not entirely sure.

Probably for the enjoyment, I have known several horses to randomly jump in an arena with jumps even though they were not forced to and could have just kept going on the rail. Some horses just love to jump, our old horse for example would just light up with enjoyment when he saw a jump ridden or not.

lol. That's so cute! I would love if Crayon decided to enjoy jumps. Even if it's just on the ground. I'd never actually seen her actually JUMP anything before.
