You are not jumping ahead, but you did catch him in the mouth. I looked at it three times, one frame at a time and you deffinitely caught him. Just be careful with that.

I noticed that also BBJ. Sounds like the ground is frozen solid. Not the best jumping surface actually. Be careful.

You're laying on him over the jump. And because of that you whacked him in the back on the downside, and caught him in the mouth.
Jump in a saddle instead.
I don't think your seat is independent enough to jump bareback yet.
