Jumping?

Our new horse, Hercules is a jumping horse. I have never rode English before and will be taking lessons. But this winter I want to lunge/free lunge him over some jumps. What can we use or buy to make the jumps? I can't seem to find anywhere to buy that stuff, and don't know what to use if i would to make them. Anyone know of a place to go to or how to make jumps?

We make most of our own jumps. We just go to Menards or Lowes.
For the standards we use 5' 4"x4" post, and drill holes. to steady the base we use 4 ~14" 2"x4", it would be easier for you to look at one or find a picture to see how to attach them.
For the poles we buy 8' - 12 landscaping pole, we use different lenghts depending on what we want to use them for. PVC pipe is really nice because it's lighter and is easier for your horse to hit, but they are more expensive.
Chicks saddlery is having a sale on jump cups right now. I would suggest buying those, they are about impossible to make.
I am sure that if you search around, you can find plans for making jumps. I might do a search and see if I can find something.

There are tons of websites where you can order jumps. Here's one (I have never used it but it seems really nice)

I found this book on making jumps it looks pretty good:

Making Your Own Jumps
Mary Gordon Watson. Threshold Picture Guide. A step-by-step guide to building your own show jumps and cross-country fences.
