I can't begin to explain how incredibly happy I am that winter is over. Mainly because I hate the cold and snow for five months, but moreso because I can actually start getting down to business with starting Mocha.

Ugh! I think the title says it all really. The kiddo got an inner ear infection yesterday, its been freezing and tomorrow in -44 C weather with windchill warnings all over the place we are going out to pick up 80+ bales. Yay me! At least if I don't freeze into a solid block of ice I should be able to work with Mocha a little and keep her up to speed on her manners, maybe do a bit of long lining but we'll see. I'll try to get some pictures though maybe, if my fingers are useable.

Need I really mention how frustrating trying to find hay in the dead of winter can be? I'm sure everyone knows. I swear next year I am taking over complete charge of finding hay, this year has been a nightmare. We would have had enough to last us all winter if that last cut hadn't not gone through in the fall, but it didn't so we started getting low last month. Got a few scattered round bales here and there, very very overpriced large square from someone else. Finally! I got ahold of a hay producer...

Well had an interesting visit yesterday out to go work with Mocha. Started out slow since she was obviously in a strange mood, not her normal willing self when I put the halter and lead on her. I worked her a bit in the pasture, mostly doing yields and trying to improve her leading which is coming along well despite the chewing on everything. I think she must be teething, she HAS to have her mouth on everything at the moment so I think I'm going to give our vet a call and make sure everything is...

Went out to the farm on the weekend to help pull in the couple bales of hay we got, I'm really hating having a hard time tracking down any good hay that isn't going to make me broke.
