Fog, Friesian, & a Scissor Mane

Posted 06-07-2008 at 05:48 PM by Ureventer
Despite falling asleep at 3am my body decided it was wide-awake at 6am this morning. Since today was supposed to reach the upper 90s (when in fact it turned out to reach into the 100s), I took myself out to the barn. When I stepped outside I was completely surrounded by fog. I never experienced anything like it. Of course I had been and driven in fog, but today's was unbelievably thick.

By the time I got to the barn the fog was still heavy. It looked like a scene out of a cheesy horse...

Waiting and Trust Work

Posted 06-06-2008 at 07:42 AM by Ureventer
I'm still waiting for an appointment time for Ty's eye exam...*taps foot.* Our electricity was out due to a tornado that hit us, so we were unable to fax over the necessary paperwork that was sent to me via e-mail. I plan on having that sent off today. I really don't want to wait around on a possibly progressive eye issue

If you exclude the major medical problems, Ty is fine. I went to check on him yesterday after the storm and aside from being totally caked in mud, he looked...

THE vet exam

Posted 06-02-2008 at 10:52 AM by Ureventer
Well I got back from Ty's vet exam two hours ago.
Overall it's a good/bad news scenario.

The vet checked his vitals, all of which were normal and then went to check his nerves by pinching various areas of his body. He reacted normally, with the exception of showing little to no signs of sensitivity on the sides of his neck.

She then proceeded to look at his eyes. His menace reaction (reaction to something coming near the eye) and pupil light reactions were normal;...

One More Day...

Posted 06-01-2008 at 02:46 PM by Ureventer
After recieving the phone call from the lady at the barn about Ty's cut, I braced the down-pour of rain outside and went to go make sure Tybird was alright. While driving half-way there it stopped raining (woah, my luck isn't all that bad after all!).

When I finally arrived, my naughty pony met me with a cut half-way down his face. It wasn't pretty, but it luckily wasn't deep either (*whew!*). So I played "Doctor Ashleigh" and cleaned it up a bit. I also went out today...

@#%$!

Ooooooh that Ty!

I just recieved a phone call from a lady who lives on the boarding property where I keep Ty (the same lady who now owns Starbucks). She said that Ty had cut his face (she thought it was likely on a sharp tree limb) and it was oozing. She indicated that a bunch of his hair was scraped off, but felt that it wasn't deep enough to require stitches; however she suggested that I come have a look at in. She was incredibly kind and said that she would clean it...
