The Ups and Downs....

The fires rage on in California and I keep worrying I'll learn of more friends who've lost homes, thankfully, not so far...
Today I was able to help assimilate information of valid assistance organizations for animals in general, horses and dogs specifically. It is not a lot, but it is something and maybe other people will see the information and be able to donate money or other types of assistance.
After a long but relatively productive day at work today and managed to get out the door by 4pm, I got a ride in on Dancer. Today was one of those days where some things went well and other things were resistance filled step by step. Today, she decided to want to lean on the bit and try to see if she could avoid lateral flexion. After some work on that she gave her customary sigh and decided to soften and loosen up and listen. Once we got to that point the rest of the ride was really neat! Her roll backs are starting to get really strong and effortless feeling and her lope departures are getting straighter and straighter.
Now if we could pull it all together consistently, I think we'd be getting ready to try some entry level reining classes. Baby steps... ahhh baby steps.....
