Switching barns?

Posted 03-19-2007 at 07:55 PM by ladida
Recently, my mom and I have been talking a lot about switching barns. Currently the one we are at is the best for the price, but board got raised again and others do have their advantages.

My old trainer moved (and we were really close) because our current barn owner MADE her, power struggle, and we wanted to go with them; where they are does not have nighttime lights or a landline phone, and therefore would not be too safe at night if you were alone, or if there was an emergency.

It had seemed perfect, mostly because it was right next to the barn where I take lessons vs. a 40 minute trail ride to get there.

Now we are looking into possibly switching to my lesson barn. I'm going to start teaching there, and it has jumps, lights and very good footing. It is 375 w/o shavings, but the benefits are the jumps and the ease for me to earn money.

I just feel guilty to pressure my mother to change because it would be more money (yet less because I could pay for lessons) and the trail access isn't as great. I also don't know if I want to be watched by my trainer each time I ride! That was a great freedom I had at my old barn. The new barn is very hunter, and I don't really agree with all their principles. Yet also that could help me a lot because it would help me get serious about showing and jumping because it would all be there.

So, just a little frusterated vent.!
