Indian Knights: Chapter X

Posted 12-23-2005 at 08:03 AM by Super Step
The old man had seen many things in his life. Most were good, and early on he saw change as something which could not be avoided. Still sometimes he wondered why people worked toward change. It seems as though they were not satisfied with the present and wanted to change solely for the purpose of change. This amused him to some degree.
He thought back to the creek that flowed close to his village. The children were forbidden to play in the water. This was not out of concern for their safety,...

Christmas Holidays

Posted 12-22-2005 at 07:54 PM by Super Step
Today was the first day off for our Christmas Holidays. I did manage to get some things done.
I am glad Kandee's and my famlies live close and we do not have to decide which we are going to visit for Christmas.

Dad called and had a huge water bill. In the hundreds of dollars. He stayed in his house out here during Thanksgiving. (He lives in a house closer to civilization and come out here as he pleases) There is an outside leak that ran the 2 weeks he was here. When the weather...

Last winter, 5 horses only ate 150 bales of hay. They have already eaten that amount this year. I suppose I will fertilize the new grass over the Christmas holidays to give it a boost. This is the first year I have never had a good stand. It happens. Glad I put up enough hay just in case.
I did not plant...

Tina

Posted 12-14-2005 at 08:17 PM by Super Step
I doubt I make many entries. Just not much for sharing in public.

Tina, the orphaned fawn, is back home. She spooked from the horses and ran away. The last time I had seen her, she was running through my uncles pasture. One of the teachers at school asked me if I was missing a deer wearing a pink collar. Tina had been in their yard 4 times eating acorns. I put out feed but she never returned. Tina had taken up with a wild Doe and her fawn. Not really accepted it seems, just followed...
