So Fortunate!

Wow, I haven't been on HGS at ALL lately. Too many things going on. Sorry

Michelle and I made friends with a girl one of our rather promiscuous guy friends was dating. Turns out she's the daughter of a Grand Prix jumper trainer and has a heart of gold

She just got back in town from school and we spent the past two days riding. Her dad shares barn space with Karen Healey! (Trainer who had more than one student in the top 10 for this year's Maclay) It's really neat...

Looked at a mare today, and rode!

Wow, been a while since my last entry

I got Michelle and Kira to join HGS Michelle is Michelle&Doogie, Kira is Dancer4christED. Be nice to them!

Michelle and I went on an adventure today...we went and looked at a coming 2 year old Morgan mare in Temecula, which is about 2 hours away sans traffic. Oddly enough, the owners were originally from our town and grew up riding at the same barns Michelle and I have been at. Such a ridiculously small world! ...

Well, somehow I forgot my boots and half chaps on Tuesday, and hence I wasn't able to ride in my lesson. I didn't realize until I got to the barn and wouldn't've been able to make it to my parents' house, which is where I'd left the stuff.

Instead, I sat with the trainer and really paid attention to what she was noticing and correcting, especially over fences. Some of the horses were cute jumpers, especially this BIG RID gelding. Irish Draught's and IDSH's are becoming...

Discouraged, Bad Ride

Posted 06-20-2007 at 01:02 PM by Shannon
I guess I forgot why I engulfed myself so much in the horse world OUTSIDE of the saddle.

I'm so embarassed. I had such a terrible lesson yesterday.

I rode the same gelding as last week, but he was a totally different horse. He was off on his RH starting out, though Suzie (SuZQuzie) legitimately noticed him being off on his RF. The trainer said he has a bit of arthritis and would work out of it. He was FINE last week, very forward, but this week, I was constantly driving...

2nd Time Back in the Saddle

Posted 06-13-2007 at 12:06 AM by Shannon
Wow, what a great ride!!

It's late and I'm tired, so I'll be brief. I rode this FANTASTIC 16hh or so chocolate palomino. He rode EXACTLY like Queen pretty much, which was awesome. Our trainer perfectly matched Michelle and I to mounts after our evaluation. We were both thrilled with our horses. Skippy (lame name I know) was perfect for me and I was so happy. Michelle rode a chestnut TB who didn't look like much but was exactly what she needed. We're both so out of practice and need...
