The adventures of Lindsay and Val

Liz got back on thursday, and rode Val over poles. She was super good, wasn't rusty at all - acted just like she had been schooled over poles the entire 2 weeks. I did showmanship too and she was super duper. I was happy with her.
Then I had an intense horsemanship lesson this morning, and we worked on lots and lots and lots of hard transitions, like the extended lope to the slow jog, fast walk to slow walk, extended jog to walk, etc. All those tough ones. Val was very good, and I was pretty good too. Some spots I dropped my left wrist a little, and Liz fixed that though.
Then in the afternoon Liz rode Val and worked on lead changes with her. She was a good girl - and got all her changes very well. Our goal is to have her showable in horsemanship with a lead change by the next show (3 weeks away). It's possible, but Liz is going to have to work with them everyday, and then I need to start working on them later this week too, so I know what to do with her and stuff. She may or may not be ready to show with one yet...
And it looks like Liz and I will be flying up to fort worth this august to watch the youth world. We'll stay for a couple days and watch the showmanship and horsemanship, then fly back. She has some relatives that live about 20 minutes from the show groungs so we would stay with them. I'm excited it'll be really fun.
Oh yeah and my new fake tail came. OMG I love it!!!! It's perfect!!!
