Well we moved to the barn, and all is good. Granted some stuff happened that I wrote about but im nt going to again.. I dotn want to get angry again.
so I'll write about ym second trail ride on duke
We took Duke and Pepsi out on another trail ride!
Duke reinforced what he showed me last time- he's a perfect trail horse!

He was so happy to be out again. I hadn been out to see them since wensday, so he greeted me at the front of his stall and was so happy when I took him into the round pen, just to stretch his muscles. But he wanted to follow me out it was so cute you could see him going.."but..but..." when I made him stay in it while I went ot get saddle and bridle. I saddled him up while he whinnied his head off- probibly cus theres a mare in season somewhere LOL. But anyways, so I saddled him and led him into the barn isle, mounted up and waited for mom to mount Pepsi.
We went out, but Duke was so happy to be out he was careless with his steps and ket tripping over dipps in the ground and a few rocks. LOL. So we walked them around inside the perimiters twice, to get his mind on things, and then we went out. Craig opened the gate and it must have brushed duke's hindquarters. he lurched forward, startled, but didnt take ff. I stroked his neck and calmed him, but he was fine.
So off we were. duke waS happy to lead and I kept having to slow him down so Pooped-Out- Pepsi ( poor old man) could keep up. We took them down to the wash ( a dip that when it rains, becomes flooded), and just past that. Wehn we got there, a big van came up behind us. Luckily it wads a nice lady that obviously was used to it and drove carefully and slowly past us, smiling as she went by. I expected duke to flip out, since it was on his blind side, but he stood still while they passed, completely unphased, and once the car was passed, pushed at the bit, wanting to go.
I wanted to keep going, but mom and I both wanted to make sure we didnt work Pepsi too hard. So we turned aound. It was then that pepsi picked up speed heading back to the barn, but duke, kept trying to go on. I turned him back to the barn and forced him t go, but his steps were decidedly grudging. I could tell he didn't want to go back yet. LOl. I'm so happy. I love my horse. I was worried that because he's so spooky when handled on the ground, he wouldnt be a good trail horse, but he's absolutly perfect!
