Private lesson

Today was my first PRIVATE lesson with my instructor (ive been in many of his group lessons). I had a great time, because it was my first time riding at his place. It was also interesting since I was riding one of his horses (for experience)
The lesson started with flatwork, only the basic stuff since it was a little get-to-know you between me and the horse (more below). We just worked on our circles and transitions and stuff. Plus I had a little gallop on him in the arena
my instructor wanted to show me that he could go lol.
Then we did some jumping!!!
It was so much fun. I felt like a bit of a wimp because I made him take the jumps down to under 2 ft
when he wanted me to jump higher, but I just didnt feel confident yet on my new mount. The jumping was great, just basic stuff again. We did a little course quite a few times, just working on my position and stuff. the course was a pretty tricky little twisty turny thing and I almos came off at one point when my horses did a massive jump due to me not positioning him properly
I wasnt scary though, it was just good fun and I laughed off the fact I made a funny scream-like noise while hanging on for dear life as Equador (the horse) calmly cantered towards the next jump! lol
It was so much fun!!! omg! lol I just CANT WAIT for my next lesson next week. I feel quite confident now, and its time to progress!
Ill tell you about my horse. He is a magnificant 16 yr old Bay TB gelding (well he LOOKS like a TB lol I didnt actually ask
) named Equador. He is so so talented (but rather lazy lol) for the first 10 yrs of his life he was a stockhorse used for mustering cattle once every 6 months (thats it!) He has since gone on to become quite the little competitor! He has NEVER been unplaced at a ODE or hunter trial
So anyway it was the best lesson and I just had to share. As soon as I buy a camera I'll get my instructor to take some pictures of Equador and me
