So what have we been up to......................
Sunday 21st - first show of the season for the Mad Mare and I. So there I am seven o'clock Sunday morning rebathing the Mad Mare, because over night she has kept quite cosy by laying in a big pile of pooh...... so now her usually white neck and head are bright green and quite smelly, not exactly show material................... following this crisis everything went quite smoothly, the weather was dull and cool, but not raining (it did later)and we loaded and travelled to the show ground.......no problem
We arrive at the show ground register and away we go. The Mad Mare and I are in our Sunday best and looking particularly gorgeous, we step into the show ring and the heavens opened, no, not a light shower but a heavy hail storm with wind...... thank you so much. I suspect we did not look quite so gorgeous then...
We completed the class and the judge informed me that she prefers coloured horses to have more colour with just a little white showing, well we are the opposite to that, so we did not do so well.
The next class was the cob class, well we did get a fifth rosette but the judges comment was that she preferred her cobs heavier. I could not beleive it.
I have just spent four to five months getting my mare slim and trim, Oh well there you go !!!!!
The last class was driving type and we picked up third,
the judge informed me that she had good bone and excellent conformation.
So all in all it was a good day, albeit being toally soaked and the dye running on my bridle, turning the Mad Mares face a delicate shade of blue, the judge wanted more colour, I am only happy to oblige, but I suspect she meant something other than blue.....pink maybe !!!!!!!!!
Oh well.....................another show this weekend.
Hoofing it....................
