Oooh I'm so EXCITED!

Gosh, I can't WAIT until tomorrow! I'm going to visit my grandparents. Yes, my beloved grandparents. I do not know one single person who gets as excited as I do about seeing their grandparents. But, it's because they're the coolest, most beautiful and wonderful people ever to grace the earth.
Mimi is the kooky, non-cooking (though she can and she's good at it!), wild, crazy, energetic, tall, beautiful, infinate-pit-of-wisdom-grandma. She LOVES to go shopping and she spoils me to death. She's like the crazy aunt except...with a dash of grandma. I hope I get to be a cool aunt someday. I'll tell Britton to stop being a sociopath and get married so I can be a crazy auntie. Sigh. Papa is the very quiet, very big, very gentle, retired air force and local dentist grandpa with the big beard and mustache and Parkinsons...poor Papa...that's a recent kind of thing. He's the most generous, big hearted person in the world. They're the perfect combination. They fill in each others' personalities and are so wonderful...they're the traveling kind. We love to do fun things.
Britton, Mom and I are driving there tomorrow (8-9 hours), and then she and he are leaving on monday. I'm going to stay for a while longer. It's my favorite place on Earth, Abilene is...probably just because they're there
You wouldn't think of that city as the epitome of sohpistication and class, but they make it that way!
While there, I hope we'll:
*Visit the Army Surplus Store with Papa
*Visit Mrs. Baird's Bakery with Papa (they've got a packing plant for it there and they've got a discount bakery store!!
With bread...and...and pies...mmmm pies...*drools*)
*Go out to eat a couple times, including Red Robin, Jason's Deli, Chick Filet, China King takeout, Joe Allen's, and of course Olive Garden! Britton likes Chinese food all of a sudden so I bet he won't object
*MAYBE visit the Frontier Texas museam...that's SO cool. I've been there three times and I still like it!
*See the new Indiana Jones movie!
*Go to...*go ahead and make fun of me, but I swear it's so exciting...* the Drug Emporium
*Go to Tuesday Morning
*Get DONUTS!
At Jack and Jill. Haven't been there in YEARS, I swear
*Go downtown and see a movie in the really old theatre and eat at their old bank restaurant
*Go CLOTHES SHOPPING! (Kohls, Steinmart, mall? I REALLY want to sneak there with Mimi and get a few more ear piercings!
)
*Get a haircut
*Order some new breeches...
Haha.
*Go to the Airforce Base! The commisary is really exciting...they have such cool stuff there, and for SO cheap AND without tax!!!
And they have a SUPER amazing sports complex and gym. It's like a couple acres, and it's INCREDIBLE! I want to go bowling, as well
Man that place makes me want to join the armed forces...darn my stupid self administrated ethics code!
Ha naw there's nothing wrong with it in peace time...okay I'm not going to follow that tangent :P
*Have a few enlightening talks
*Play some board games!
*Somehow, make them SUPER SUPER happy and do everything they ask with gusto!
*Try something new, too!
You see...We live a pretty simple lifestyle. The only extravagence is invested in horses. Simple of course doesn't really mean unpriveledged...I'm EXTREMELY lucky and I know it!
But...we're not exactly the classiest of people...I strive to be, and we (my family) aren't without class, but we just don't know how to take care of ourselves
In the whole "appearence" department, we're a bit...well lacking. I'd be willing to bet that Mimi has bought me about 3/4 of all of the garments I've ever owned in my life. I'd be wearing my tees from 6th grade were it not for her. And...wel...we have no good restaurants here!
So hey...I go there partially to be rescued my my adoring and adored Mimi and Papa. Mimi will rush up to me and go "you poor thing, you look like a ragamuffin!" and then we go out and make me super super happy
There's enough class there to get me through the next six months. I know we can't do all of those things, because I'll just wear the poor people out! We used to go all over, but I'm afriad that's not possible. I'll drive them places even though my liscense is...expired
Omg. Sigh. Oh well...I passed the driving test!
Lesson: There's NOTHING wrong with being spoiled, as long as you LOVE it
because that means you appreciate it instead of expect it!
I've of course only discussed matieral things in this entry, because to list the reasons why I love my grandparents would be a list that would take many moons to complete, it it would even be possible TO complete it. This is just one tiny section!
Haha.
Well anyways, I seriously need to pack. MAN I'm just SO EXCITED!!!
Thanks for reading!

Only she's short, "quiet" (quiet voice, but she talks a lot), and not very energetic, but mostly that's because she has MS and gets tired really easily. Yep, you'd better get your brother married off, because being an aunt is a blast! Make sure he doesn't move off into another state like my sister did, though. |
