Sneak got his first set of shoes Tuesday!! He was being a little brat for the first part, though. (When you cut off one - or rather, two - of their brains, it doesn't necessarily mean that they'll use the other one.) Until he made the grave mistake of cow-kicking at aunt Ashley and grandma here had to put the fear of God into him. He was an absolute angel after the spanking I gave him - very eager to listen, pick up his feet, and keep them up for however long we decided they needed to be there.

In other news, Sneak will be heading off to training at Cotsonika Paint Horsesin a few days. In case you're wondering, yes that is Kiss My Zippo, and yes Sneak's trainer (Nick Cotsonika) is the one who trained and rode Zip to his many championships.

I also kinda-sorta leaned to trim a horse on Sneak's momma, Micki! The concept is easy enough, however actually doing it is a whole different story. And my butt/legs/back are screaming bloody murder at me this morning. I told Ashley that she needs a desk job.

After all of that fun we put the first ride on Mom's new trail horse, a quite obviously dressage-trained Morgan/Friesian cross we re-christianed Tornado. He has a bone splint on his knee, but hopefully we can get that fixed. He was a blast to ride and has a to die for canter when he does it properly.

Then we jumped in the pool with our clothes on! A very nice, cool, refreshing ending to a hot day.
