I went to the beach today! The first time since I broke my knee 4 weeks ago. Typically we go to the beach at least two times a week in the summer. It's been a downer not to be able to get there. My little go-go scooter made it possible! I went to a different beach, one I would not normally go to but it was the only one I could access by scooter and the crutches. I tan so quickly, it's a curse really. You would howl at the tan line caused by my knee brace. My kneecap is brown and the rest is all...

I received Lou3's gift a few days ago She sent a lovely sculpture of a Boxer that looks a lot like our Mason. It's beautiful and so detailed. I love it and it has a permanent position on our mantel in the living room. Sarah also sent our Sarah a little package just for her, which was so sweet. A little crafty project. It was perfect timing as we were JUST walking out the door for our holiday at the cabin. She played with the little pom-pom's all weekend. lol

I have another doctor's apt tomorrow - for referral to a knee specialist. This appointment I cannot wait for. Hopefully it won't be a very long wait to see the knee surgeon. He came highly recommended. I do want a 2nd opinion as I am still having a lot of pain/problems with my knee.

It will be three weeks on Saturday. I can't believe I am wishing the days away this summer, I must be crazy.

After a whole lot of hassle, we finally have the scooter!
I only wish I had it when I went to Thunderbird Park for my little visit with the forum members.
When I got home I hopped on and took Sarah around the block. she on her bike, me on the scooter and the dog running with us. It was so great! Unless you understand how much my mobility has been limited (trapped really) then you might not understand how this little scooter can make me so happy.
Just that much more freedom!...

I am trying to get myself a little scooter to help me get around. It's not been as easy as I thought it would be. It needs to be as light and compact as possible so that I can haul it into the bed of the pickup by myself, on one leg. I think we have found a little 'go-go' that will fit the bill, but I won't know until tomorrow afternoon if the persons who rented it out for last week will be bringing it back or taking another week on it.
so... I will wait. I am a little impatient b/c I would...
