Well, as much as I hate my job at times, there are definatley upsides to working at a feed store. My farrier came out today and did the boys. When I was writing the check, he told me to only write it for $60 instead of the norm $75. I asked him why, was he making his own gas or something?? He gently reminded me that he only lives 3 miles from me and that I do refer a lot of customers to him. What a guy.
Last week, one of the guys who installs fencing came by work to give me a $50 bill. He told me that was for all the referrals that I throw HIS way!!
We had a huge mess under the front pole barn at work from when the hay delivery came in last week. Normally we get it delivered in a trailer, but our normal hay supplier was not done cutting, so had someone else bring some in for us. He brought it on a flatbed trailer and we had to downstack it.
My manager (who I think is clued in to how fed up I am with things there) told me to go out and bag up what I wanted. So, I think I ended up with a total of 18 huge trash bags full. I calculated, and that would amount to almost 10 bales of hay. Yippeeee!! Almost all of it was just bales that had popped out of the strings.
Our Manna Pro rep gave me a bag of goat minerals and a bag of goat treats that have just came out on the market earlier this week. I was reading the mineral bag and just raving becuase it has ammonium cholride in it, which none of our other minerals have and I would like to feed it to my pygmy wether. He told me to take it home and try it, it was on him.
So, I am writing this all in my journal for those days when I am job hunting because I have lost sight of some of the positive things about working where I work.
