Lot's of new stuff

Posted 04-19-2008 at 12:31 PM by lover
Wow, I haven't up dated this for a long time. I a lot has happened here lately. First off, I got some house cleaning jobs so that's really good. I am really raking in the bucks! I had a riding lesson last Thursday which went really well. Actually the lesson before that went well too. Let me fill you in. Two lessons ago I was going to have a lesson (duh!). I asked my trainer who I was going to ride that night and she said "Hans" (we will just call him that) Hans is a big Thoroughbred that i am scared to ride. He bucks with some people and I have confidence issues plus he is a big horse and I am a beginner. Well anyways, I was like "lunge lesson?" Even though it was obvious that was out of the question because she broke her ankle and wasn't going to stand around for 45 mins lunging me. So she was like "Uh, no!" So I get on this big horse and well, I won't go into details but it was a great lesson and he behaved himself. Then, last Thursday I had another lesson. I rode him again. At first I was nervous because I thought the last good lesson might just be a fluke and he was gonna be hyper today. Nope, he was a good boy. In fact, she was like "Wanna canter?" I was like "Uh, I don't feel comfortable doing that by myself on this horse" She is like "He will be fine, really." And this horse is SO well trained so before I could object otherwise she said "canter" and he did it. It was a lot of fun. I was proud of myself. I held the outside rein and used the inside to keep him circling, and I had one hand on the bucking strap cause I still need to work on my position. So now I can't wait til I can ride MY horse at the canter. But I will save him the pain of having me clunking around on his back. After my riding instructors ankle heals I will have another lunge lesson and we will REALLY work on the canter because I want to be able to do it correctly. Anyways, we cantered and worked on bending and moving sideways and it was a great lesson. I am very pleased with this horse and myself. I know this horse is a big schoolmaster but I know he can also get pretty strong too.

Willy is doing great! I can now ride him ALL by my self at the trot on the bit!!! I have pretty much acomplished my goal (which you can read in another thread) before the summer!! Hopefully I can have us cantering before the end of the summer. He has been such a good boy lately. I have really enjoyed my rides with him.

That's about all for now! I know I have a lot more to tell but I don't have time. TTYL
