Lifestyle Changes

Since I never seem to make any new year's resolutions, I decided to make a few this year. My main, and most important one is to start to make some healthy lifestyle chances. I don't plan on dieting per say, but I do plan to eat healthier, and exercise to stay (or get) in shape. I'm still young, and I can still keep off pounds easily, but I don't want my bad habits catching up with me later on.
My overall goal is to look better by the time we get to go to Cabo in the spring. Last year I felt like I looked horrible in a swimsuit, and was so embarassed to walk around with it on. When in reality I looked fine. I guess it just had to do with me used to being "the skinny one", but everyone there looked almost perfect.
It was deffinately a feeling I had never experienced before.
So that is my biggest motivation to make some lifestyle changes. I plan on going month by month, and week by week. Essentially I want to set goals for every month, and week. I think I have mapped it out pretty well for January. I'm planning on staring today (January 3, 2007).
January: Start planning weekly meals without eating much if any more, nor much less than what I have planned out. I want to intake the proper amount of calories, have correct sized portions, and keep it all healthy (for the most part), and balanced.
Week One: Eat breakfast. I tend to skip breakfast, especially on school days, and I realize that it is an unhealthy habit that I need to get out of to achieve a healthier lifestyle. Fortunately my mom just bought me some oats, and some other wheat cereal stuff so hopefully I can stick to those kinds of foods.
Week Two: Continue working on my goal from week one. It generally takes about 21 days, or three weeks to create a habit, so I need to upkeep what I am doing in week one.
Week Three: Again, continue working on my goal from week one, and two. Now, I will start to decrease the amount of sugar I intake every day. I plan to eat maybe one sweet per day, especially since I tend to eat one sweet, then another, and another until I have had way too many. I don't have a lot of will power, but I think I can handle one sweet per day. Since I tend to crave sweets through out the day at random times I think I'll just dice up two chocolate truffles, and eat one cube every time I get a craving for something sweet, but once I'm out, I'm out.
Week Four: Continue on my goal for week three.
That's my plan for January, so I hope I can keep up with it. If not, I can handle a few set backs, as long as I don't crash.
Hm...seeing as how it's 12:32am I think I ought to get to bed.
