Knee Problems

Posted 12-04-2006 at 09:45 PM by gotta a horse
Argh, yesterday my knee cap went out of place. I was walking out to get Sis to practice our OHSET showmanship pattern because I really want to nail it at the first meet. As I was walking down to get her I took a step, I didn't even step weird, and it went out. It hurt like heck! My dad was in the house, my mom was gone, the truck and the barn were blocking me from view. So I yelled at the top of my lungs so hopefully he would hear me. I didn't work so I started to scream at the top of my lungs and he didn't hear that either. Fortunately my neighbor heard me and came over, asked me what was wrong and got my dad. When I got in the house I figured it would stop hurting pretty soon since it always does. Nope, it still hurt like heck and I was still in tears. I took a pain killer, iced it, took a hot bath, and iced it again. This happened at around 1:30 - 2:30 (pm). I missed school today because I couldn't walk on it until around 5:30 - 6:30 this evening. If it weren't the first day of the trimester I would have gone but since I probably wouldn't be doing anything I decided to rest up. I can kind of walk now but it went stiff so it's more like a pathetic limp than a walk. I still can't move it in certain ways without it feeling strange so I have to stablize (sp) it some how when I do have to move it in those ways. Usually I am up and about again within an hour, so this was deffinately a rarer case. It's also a little swollen but not bad. I think it was worse because it happened last week as well (not nearly as bad) and it didn't get a chance to heal up completely. It sounds a lot worse in writing than it actually is. For me the worst part was not being able to go to school or being able work with Sis or Clue like I originally planned. I've been to the doctors a few times for it so I need to get surgery for it eventually except I am busy year round (mainly with my animals) so I don't have time for it. I need to get it done though especially since I have rams and they can get aggressive sometimes and I can't be worry about my knee when I'm getting chased by a 300lb ram. I wish I wouldn't have gotten the knock kneed gene.
