I got my first pay slip.. I'm getting paid way more than I thought I would! Nearly as much as in my other job (that I work during semester). Plus I get $25 each time I take my car out to the farm, and it only uses like $5 - $10 fuel. Sweet! I worked out that I can make like $3750 this summer, so I'll try save at least $3000 By the time I've run my car (prob going to go through $60/week in fuel ), bought presents, horse stuff etc I'm sure I can deal to $750 no problems.

This summer I'm working for a race-horse trainer, but not in the stable. I am getting the steeplechasers fit, they are grazing out in this farm in the middle of nowhere (45 min away! Thank goodness the driving out there part counts as work hours plus I get petrol vouchers to cover it).

Every day we go out, this older man I know from Pony Club and a girl called Jess usually comes too, and we get the horses in - there's 17 horses to do! Today was cool, I went out early with the farriers...

I got a letter in the mail the other day. My flatmate from this year had kindly forwarded me mail from the flat (I have come home, two of them were there an extra week or two), plus there was another one addressed to me in his own handwriting.

Enclosed was a letter and a note. The note said that it (the letter) was something he wrote a couple of weeks ago but didn't give to me at the time (I was breaking up with Tom then getting involved with Brent).

I had the BEST day with Allie today! I was kind of tired to start with so I really didn't rush things, and went back and did some of the ground-work I'd done at the start of training her. Then I saddled her but didn't do it as tight as normal, and backed her up - she actually backed! Normally she's extrememly difficult to back under saddle. Then I led her forwards and around, and she didn't do any bucks Normally she bucks when she first moves off once the saddle has been put on. Then I tightened...

...and having mood swings! Mostly I am so happy. Everything makes me happy Good things of course, even the bad things hardly stress me. Well, for too long, anyway. Even when Allie's a rat - throws me, or does huge bucks, I just feel patient.

I have been thinking about Brent a lot. It's strange - random things will remind me of him (Billy Joel, for one lol) and I can picture him clear as, I can almost imagine him being here with me. I do miss him... but it's different. Not an anxious...
