OK so Fiona was great today...finally pulled her head out and is ready to get back to work now
Dawn has finally picked up the flying changes much better. Faster and cleaner changes. I'd like to have an 'almost' flying change before our show.

AND the girl came to look at the mystery horse today! She rode him around and he did REALLY well for her. Then I rode him to show the parents that he did indeed know something. The girl needs to come back and ride with me again to freshen...

Hmmmm found a new horse today haha

First things first I called this 12 yr old girl's dad. I gave this girl a few free lessons on Fiona and she has INCREDIBLE natural talent for english riding, but comes from a cowboy family...so she has well, not the best horses for a jumper career

I gave the info to him and they seem interested and will check the horse out and then make a decision.

Dawn has finally crossed over to the dark side and decided to be good. Beautiful canter of the perfect pace (he was cantering like Fiona...just what I wanted!) and his transitions were muuuuch more responsive. And he's moving off the leg a whole lot better. He's finally softened up and just relaxed into doing his job. Took a while, but this is usually how it happens, one day they just get it.

my horses are weird...thats all there is to it HAHA

I didn't have much time for horse work this afternoon so dawn and fiona were both lunged with side reins...all went well. Then when their work was done I unclipped the reins and lunged them over a cavaletti. Well an 18" cav is like ummm NOTHING to these two...so I made a pyramid...sat about 3' high. Dawn pretty well just walked over it. Interesting...I realize he's a big horse, but yeah, he's quite the jumper. And Fiona walked...
