Worked Bill for about an hour again tonight. About a half hour of long-lining and the other half just working on standing still in a bit and grooming. He got a bit freaked out by some fireworks and four-wheelers, but we made it though the freak-out with him staying facing the same direction, and only going down on one knee.

Working on giving with the bit was a lot better tonight, though he was very weavy at first. Also worked on a one-rein stop, and by the end of the mile, he was stopping probably 75% of the time with just a little pressure and a verbal "whoa"...the other 25% of the time we had to circle, or use substantial pressure. I worked mostly with the left rein for stopping, but also did stop a few times with the right rein -- mostly used the left because we were doing good after the freak-out and wanted to end on a good note.

Still need to get good pics of him with his saddle on.
