Well, for the second time, Santanna and I joined up. It was really cool and didn't take long at all. She worked for maybe...ten minutes, and then as soon as I "called" her into the center, she just walked right up to me and I rubbed under her forelock and scratched her cheek where she likes it. I walked around, turned, stopped-she followed me wherever I went. I backed up and she pivoted so she was facing ma again. It was REALLY cool. I sent her out two more times and each time she did exactly the same time.
It's moments like that, that I feel like Santanna and I were meant to be together...that we can do anything.
I rode her yesterday with Mrs. R in the cart and we had a great time. Santanna and I went for a nice little canter (OK, a gallop, but don't tell my dad) on the runway (it's not used for planes anymore) back behind the cornfields near Mrs. R's property. I closed my eyes for a minute and again, it was one of those times...I felt totally in sync with her. It was amazing. Made me just forget all the times I'd battled with her.
So yeah, I've had a pretty cool last couple days as far as horses are concerned. And Thanksgiving vacation is just a day away (I'm off from Wednesday to next Monday) so I'll have tons of time to hang out with Santanna and maybe take the little mini Dusty (he's 1 1/2) for a walk, which is fun because he's so inquisitive and sweet.
I'm really looking forward to having some time off from school...which is pretty much a waste of time, as far as I'm concerned. I mean, yeah, there's no way I'd drop out or anything because I want a good education and no way are colleges going to accept a dropout, but I'm so sick of all the daily drama. "OMG, my boyfriend's mad at me" and "Did you hear what Sarah said to Madison? Kailey told Ashley to tell me to tell you" and on and on. Some--okay, MOST--of it is so pointless. I just think some people need to prioritize a little.
That's all for now...come back tomorrow (or whenever I feel like writing more) for another edition of "Leanne's Boring Life That You Know You Want to Hear About!"
