Her walk has gotten to maybe 25% of the time she's quiet with her head AND accepting light contact. I literally only ask for 6 or so strides of that before we go back to loose rein. She is one of the most un-muscled horses I've ever started, so the last thing I want to do is make her sore. She's figuring out too that inside leg means "hey, silly, stay out!", even though she's pretty darn good at recognizing that outside leg means "hey silly, stay in!" *shrug*

3-9-07 Getting Started

Some of you know that my primary horse, Rio, is out for the duration, however long that will be, due to yet another injury I SO thought this would be our year, finally putting all the pieces together with chiro treatment, a saddle he finally REALLY likes, and more.

This means that Catnip, my OTTB mare I've had for almost 2 1/2 years now, is finally being made to step up to the plate and start her new career.

Miss Nip did not come from a good track background. I daresay...
