A Bad Case of "Reverse Homesickness"

Posted 09-05-2009 at 09:30 PM by horse_freak001
Everything is so different now that I am back n Canada. Italy was a phenomenal experience and I feel like it wasn't enough. There is so much more that I want to do and just as I began feeling comfortable with the language, I had to leave.

I really am starting to feel the "reverse homesickness". It makes me so sad looking through all my Italy pictures, and even worse talking to all my Italian friends (both in Italy and around the world).

I regret not doing...

Italy, Italy, Italy (and pre-departure jitters)...

Posted 06-19-2009 at 07:14 PM by horse_freak001
It's all happening so fast. It was just the beginning of the year when I was bummed and disappointed that I wouldn't be allowed to go to New Zealand, but now, Italy is so close...

I leave next Saturday and I am full of so many different emotions. Next Saturday means that it will be the first time I will be flying alone (and international no less); it will be the first time I have been away from home for an extended period of time (5 weeks), and it will be the first time I will be...

Sigh, Dad is Going to Lose Job...

Posted 04-29-2009 at 05:27 PM by horse_freak001
With everything going on in the world, it looks like it's our turn to begin feeling the crunch. Last week my dad's company announced that they are going to be closing the shop permanently later this year. They are going to get their official lay off notice in May. My dad says that they are probably going to end up closing the shop a few months earlier as well. The actual closure is not surprising at all. They have been talking about closing the shop for years now, but the timing is horrible....

Escaping My Past...

Posted 04-14-2009 at 08:06 PM by horse_freak001
Background info: http://www.horsegroomingsupplies.com...ain-b6259.html

Why is there always that lingering piece of your past that never lets go? It seems a part of my past will always hang around and never let me go.

Last night I found a fairly big spot on the back of my head that's about the size of a toonie (Sorry to those American readers ). It's not in a very visible area, but I just can't stop thinking about...

Driving Lessons: Highways, Near Accidents, and Everything in Between...

Posted 03-19-2009 at 11:26 PM by horse_freak001
I have been getting weekly driving lessons for the past few weeks. It's been pretty good I guess. I am still trying to get more comfortable on the road, but overall I think I am starting to improve.

My main problem right now is staying closer to the middle of the road. I tend to drift right, especially when other cars pass in the opposite way. It's getting better then when I first went out, but it's still a problem. I also have a problem accelerting/ deccelerating at stoplights....
