Gee where did the summer go?

Posted 09-26-2006 at 07:59 AM by Xiphias
Well it has been a while! I was going to make a thread, but decided that writing in my journal would be better! Summer has come and gone! I have been busy, working on getting the USDA Rural Development loan, so we can have all the work done on the house. Boy when you are dealing with the government, they can be picky! BUT! today we close on the loan, and the contractor can come out and start working on the house! I will have plummers, electricians, painters, drywall dudes, and the flooring people, who will be putting in all hardwood floors, except in the bathroom and kitchen! All total it is going to cost thirty thousand bucks! But is all rolled into the refinance, a 2% FIXED loan for 38 years! I guess I will be staying here for good, but I do love the area, and my house payments will be less than they are now! Actually they will be cheaper than most people pay to rent a town house! I have also been working on my garden, I grew lots of tomatos, peppers of all kinds, string beans, squash of all kinds, pumpkins ( the giant kind ) bird house goards, mamouth sunflowers ( the birds are having a feast now and getting real fat for winter ) My Fish Pond is doing good, the fish are growing, I only lost one gold fish this summer, she blew up like a puffer fish, poor Angel, she was a white goldfish, about 7 inches long, I have never seen this happen before, when we determined that she was suffering, Rod put her out of her suffering, and burried her in a special spot in the garden....sad it was like losing a pet....but she has offspring that have her same coloring to carry on. Xiphias has had an enjoyable summer, lots of grass to eat, she is rolling fat! We had fun this summer, going swimming at Kilnore Falls, and Deer Creek, canoeing at Broad Creek...all these places are with in 20 min. from the house, it is nice to live near the water. We had a Carolina Wren nesting in the shed where we keep the lawn mower, it was funny, she would raise cain when Rod went in there to get it, and put it away....her nest was on a shelf about 3 ft from the ground, I could look in and see the babies...but too hard to take a photo of Now summer is over, and soon my house will be full of construction workers, I have to pack up most of our STUFF and store it in either the basement or the storage shed, it will be like moving, but the house has to be mostly empty for the work to be done....I think we will be living in the basement den, for the most part, I hope the weather is nice, I like being outside in the early fall! I hope that I have space in the basement to hook up the puter, so I can get online in the evenings, I miss everyone here, and want to spend more time chatting, and reading and posting! I hope everyone is well, and has had a great summer! Cathy

Cathy...I cannot believe a 2% loan!!! I imagine that's some kind of special deal. I AM GREEN WITH ENVY. Anyway...so good to hear from you even if it's only via your journal and a few PMs. LOL

Life sure is exciting, huh?
