Five years ago...

Michael asked me out. I cannot believe it has been that long.
I had just been dumped by my boyfriend Chad, and was feeling rather lost, confused, and unwanted. Michael and his friend hung out with my group of friends because his girlfriend used to hang out with us. Well, her and him broke up during the summer, and she stopped hanging out with us. Anyways, fast forward. So it was October and Chad broke up with me. No big deal, except I was already going through a rough time in my life so I tried taking my life. It didn't work [obviously], I went to the hospital and drank charcoal and the stomach pump...all that good [horrible!] ****.
Anyways, so I had been talking to Mike kind of between October and December because my friend Taylor had a huge crush on him and his friend Nick. I was like...okay, whatever. Of course I thought Mike was hot, but I knew a guy like him would never, ever go out with someone like me. But the more I got to know him, the more I was drawn to him. He was smart, funny and most of all caring. I told my friends and asked them to talk to him and see if he liked me. My answer? "I wouldn't touch her with a ten foot pole." Yeah, isn't that nice? Turns out - that had been a lie. My friends liked him and didn't want him to get together with me. I confronted Mike about it, and he was rather annoyed that they said that, because he liked me.
Fast forward to the 5th, my friends decided to make my ex jealous and told Mike to put his arms around me. I of course was adamant about NOT doing it [hey - I was shy!]. Well, I was watching Mike out of the corner of his eye and he asked Nick if he should do it. So, he asked me out. Whilst I was arguing with my friends. He asked me again, then asked if he heard me. I screeched,"Yes! I heard you!" then went back to arguing. Then I stopped, turned and said,"Yes I will!"
And so it begun. <3
I will have to say there have been some very, very hard times in our relationship. There has been trust broken, and feelings smashed to smithereens, but it's been built back up. We have learned and grown together, but never grown apart. I love him more than I could ever have imagined loving someone in this lifetime. He truly is my soul mate, and I'd be lost without him.

 |  Re: Five years ago...Aww congrats! It's so great you guys have such a good relationship now and have grown together so much  Cute storey!P.S. I know all about the charcoal and the stomach pump...definatly one of the worst days for me too! Ugh! |
