Life on a quarter horse farm...
First day in paddock!
Little Cody followed me into the paddock yesterday - the paddock she was born in. She really needed the turnout and ran around like a mad horse possessed. After wearing herself out, she dropped and had a long sleep.
She has started nibbling grass, more like chewing the tops of the seed heads and young shoots, with my encouragement and seems to enjoy her days in the sun.
She is not as covered as I would like, and still not pooping (at least not what I can see) but she has little foalie f_arts and is not straining so everything is working, but the vet assures us this is normal for her, considering her lack of appetite early and the stress of her early hours.
She is now up to about 7-8 liters of milk per day, and building up. She drinks out of the bucket and the bottle. I use the bottle more often because she gulps too much with the bucket and swallows air. So I'll bottle first, then when she has had some and is less keen, I convert to bucket.
