Entry Three

Well, I got on and rode and had the owner lead her around too while I sat on top and moved around. All went well and she made no threats of any kind and was very calm.

(finally, pictures!)
Today, a very cool and damp and windy day, the mare was very full of it! She had a few days off and was apparently feeling a little bit confident and she had a bit of excess energy. I saddled her up and all was well, and then started having her circle in the paddock. She started getting stuck and leaping around whenever asked to go faster than a walk. She got really broncy! I then took her down to the hockey rink to have her lunge with less mud and rocks. The ground was very soft and she slid around a bit. She did more leaping and she seems to get skittish and insecure when she is going faster than a slow jog.
I decided not to get on as I was the only one around and with her attitude. I let her run off a little steam and got her to calm down and then we called it quits. I did some hopping by her like if I were to mount bareback. She laid her ears back and acted like she might want to kick at me with her hind leg...I don't know what was up with that, but it gives me one more thing to work on!
My main goal at this point is to get her riding pretty comfortably at walk and jog before the ground freezes and snow falls. I don't know how much time that gives me!? Hard work is definitely ahead though!
