Posted 01-10-2008 at 09:58 AM by CowGirlUp1833
As with most things, its easiest to teach by over exagerating and then becoming more suble in our aides once the horse understands clearly. Moving away from pressure is the first step, which can often be taught from the ground and pushing with your hand into thier shoulder/haunches respectively. In the saddle, when working with a green horse I also arm myself with a dressage whip to use as a tapping device. On the bit

Posted 01-10-2008 at 09:48 AM by CowGirlUp1833
First off, this is not something that is achieved quickly. It takes time, proper training AND conditioning for the horse to do this. If they do not have the muscle strength to do it, it doesn't matter if they want to or not, they won't be able to carry themselves.

Don't Make Me -Lyrics

Posted 04-30-2007 at 09:59 AM by CowGirlUp1833

Baby I love you
Don’t wanna lose you
Don’t make me let you go
Took such a long time
For me to find you
Don’t make me let you go
Baby I’m begging please
& I’m down here on
...

Grey Problems.

The problem with this and many other problems is; there isn't a perfect solution. Its not a black/white problem. Thats why instead of looking for absolute solutions, we need to look for suitable compromises...with the humane treatment of the animals being paramount.

My lifestyle changes.

Posted 02-23-2007 at 07:24 AM by CowGirlUp1833
I've learned SOOOO much about living healithier over the past year. I've changed my whole life and am soooo much happier, mind, body and soul because of it!

I started out just biking around my neighborhood, and before I knew it I was up to 15 miles a day! The important thing is to keep a good pace so that you get your heart rate up. You start burning the real calories after 20 minutes, so use the first 20 minutes to steadily work up to a good pace. Then give yourself a good 20-30...
