Inspired

As you know, I kinda had a roller coaster year too. Some major life changes, some good, some bad. I just turned 28 two days ago, and if you ask me, I may have already had my own mini mid life crisis.

I am pleased to tell you now that i've never been happier in my whole life and that happiness only continues to grow and deepen.

$30k in student loans or not...quality of life is worth something and it IS important that we live our lives the best we can...we only get one....

Warmbloods

Too often people are mislead by the term "warmblood". I thought I would take a few moments to put together a basic outline of what a true warmblood horse is.

In todays world, the word seems to have taken on two seperate meanings. A true, traditional warmblood is not simply a cross between a "cold" i.e. draft and a hot i.e. TB or arabian horse. Honestly, hands on practical experience is the key. I have been riding/training and showing for nearly 15 years now. Start slow and only take riders who you can honestly educate. Avoid taking students whose skill levels are at or above yours or hire someone who is qualified to teach them. Starting small is the right idea.... my plan was up to 10 the first year back....I'm currently between 15-25 per week. Also, make sure you have the ability to pay for all your overhead in the slow times. Riding...

Re:Depression

I've told you many times that I suffered with chronic depression for years. It took me nearly 15 years to get it under control.

Don't make the same mistake I did and wait 10 years to ask for help. Its time to seek out counseling. Having depression does NOT make you a weak person in any way, and neither does asking for help. A doctor may feel that you need perscription drugs for a while to help you manage the depression or you may be able to manage it like I do with diet and exercise....
