Singing for free ice cream

Goodness, it's nearly been a week since I've updated my journal thingy. My life has been quite boring lately. I was sitting out on the porch with a hymnbook singing my lungs out because I was bored.
I came across the song, "We say 'Goodnight'". I immediately remembered singing the song (Or I'm pretty sure it was that song) at the ice cream place down in Missouri. That was great! For any of you who are reading this that don't remember or didn't read my entry, one time my sister and I were down in Missouri visiting friends (it was a spontaneous visit) and we went to an ice cream shop. Somehow it ended up that the guy that owned the place told us that if we sang, he would give us free ice cream. We were like, "Sure! Why not?" I mean, people think we're weird anyway by the way we look, so what have we to lose?! We sang Softy and Tenderly, and a wedding hymn. I can't remember what it was called, though, and God is So Good, and My Savior Daily Walks With Me, and some others, and he recorded us while we sang. So we got our free ice cream (actually, it was frozen custard, and it was SO good), plus he gave us free refills. He was a really cool old guy. I'm sure people who were there thought we were nuts. We even had a lady take our picture for us! They were giving us some pretty weird looks, but I'm pretty used to that. Anyway, they weren't getting free ice cream. As we were leaving, we sang this song:
As now we leave this happy place,
Oh God be thou our light
And grand to ev'ry soul thy grace,
As here we say, "Good-bye!"
Good-bye! Good-bye!
As here we say "Good-bye!"
Oh Grand to ev'ry soul thy grace,
As here we say, "Good-bye!"
That's just the first verse. I actually don't know the song real well, but it was funny, because we were going out the door as we were singing it and waving. I'm sure people thought we had lost our marbles. Also, we'd only gotten like, 4 hours of sleep the night before, so you do weird things on little sleep!
I'm not going to forget that experience for a long time. The guy just talked to us, and he asked us if we went through Rumspringa. Susanna was like, "No, we're good." That's debatable, but our church doesn't allow Rumspringa.
